Histopathology enabling accurate cancer diagnosis.
Histopathology is the gold standard for cancer diagnosis — and it is unavailable at most African hospitals. Leica Biosystems tissue processors, microtomes and automated staining systems bring pathology capability to referral hospitals, enabling the accurate cancer staging that oncology treatment decisions depend on. Jos•Hansen installs, trains and maintains these systems across East Africa.
Tissue processing
Automated dehydration, clearing and paraffin infiltration of biopsy specimens — replacing overnight manual processing with consistent, walk-away cycles.
Microtoming
Precision sectioning of paraffin-embedded tissue blocks to 3–5 micron thickness — the critical step for pathologist interpretation of cellular architecture.

Reagent supply chain and laboratory management.
A laboratory is only as good as its reagent supply. Jos•Hansen manages the importation, storage and distribution of HORIBA, LKL and Leica reagents and consumables across East Africa — with in-country stock, rapid reorder systems and cold-chain management where required. We also provide preventive maintenance, calibration and ISO 15189 accreditation support.

Laboratory design and commissioning
We design and commission complete laboratory environments — from single benchtop analysers for district hospitals to multi-instrument automated lines for national referral facilities — including workflow planning and utilities specification.
HORIBA-certified field engineers
Our biomedical engineers are factory-trained by HORIBA Medical and Leica Biosystems. Preventive maintenance, calibration, corrective repairs and application support are delivered by certified personnel, not general-purpose technicians.
In-country reagent supply and cold chain
Jos•Hansen manages importation, customs clearance, storage and distribution of HORIBA, LKL and Leica reagents across East Africa — with temperature-controlled logistics for cold-chain products and local buffer stock to prevent stock-outs.
ISO 15189 accreditation support
We provide gap analysis, QMS documentation templates, equipment validation records and ongoing QC data review to support laboratories pursuing or maintaining ISO 15189 accreditation — the international standard for medical laboratory quality.
