Dialysis Consumables
Complete CE-certified haemodialysis circuit — dialysers, bloodlines, AV fistula needles and concentrates.

A dialysis machine without consumables treats no one. Supply chain is as critical as the equipment.
Every haemodialysis session requires a complete single-use circuit: a high-flux or low-flux dialyser, arterial and venous bloodlines, AV fistula needles, bicarbonate concentrate and acidic acetate concentrate — all discarded and replaced at the next session. Jos•Hansen manages the importation and in-country distribution of Baihe Medical Technology Co., Ltd. (China) certified consumables portfolio — CE Marked and ISO 13485 quality-managed — with buffer stock held in East Africa to prevent the treatment-interrupting stock-outs that have historically forced African dialysis units to suspend sessions or ration treatments. Baihe Medical's dialyser portfolio covers high-flux polysulfone membranes (the KDIGO-recommended standard for all incident HD patients), low-flux membranes for budget-constrained programmes, and paediatric-size bloodlines for units treating children.

High-flux dialysers — the KDIGO-recommended standard of care
KDIGO 2012 recommends high-flux dialysis membranes for all incident HD patients — they clear β2-microglobulin and middle molecules that low-flux membranes cannot remove, reducing all-cause mortality, cardiovascular events and dialysis-related amyloidosis. Baihe Medical's high-flux polysulfone dialysers (1.3, 1.6, 1.8 m² options) are CE Marked and ISO 13485 certified throughout the manufacturing process.
In-country buffer stock — supply that does not run out
No dialyser means no session. Standard import lead times from China to East Africa are 6–10 weeks — a programme managing stock month-to-month is one customs delay from suspending treatments. Jos•Hansen holds 12 weeks of buffer stock in bonded warehouses in Nairobi and Mombasa, ensuring supply continuity through any single logistics disruption.
Complete circuit from one supplier — no compatibility uncertainty
Sourcing consumables from multiple manufacturers creates compatibility risks between bloodline connectors, dialyser headers and machine pump segments. Baihe Medical supplies the complete HD circuit — dialysers, bloodlines, AV fistula needles and bicarbonate concentrates — all designed and tested for compatibility with Fresenius Medical Care and Nipro machines.
Polysulfone high-flux membranes — the clinical standard.
The dialyser is a bundle of hollow fibres through which blood flows on the inner surface and dialysate counter-currently on the outer surface. Polysulfone membranes — the current standard — are biocompatible, gamma-sterilisable and available in high-flux configurations with hydraulic permeability above 20 mL/h/mmHg. Baihe Medical's range meets all AAMI/ANSI 11:2014 standards for membrane performance and biocompatibility.

AV fistula needles — the consumable most often overlooked.
An AVF is cannulated at every session with two needles — one arterial, one venous. Needle quality determines cannulation ease, patient pain and haematoma frequency. Baihe Medical's range covers 15G, 16G and 17G in sharp and blunt configurations, with colour-coded A/V designation and integrated stabilisation wings. Paediatric 17G needles are included for units treating children.

Bicarbonate concentrate — the chemistry of every session.
HD dialysate is produced at the machine by mixing purified water, acidic concentrate and bicarbonate concentrate. The bicarbonate corrects the metabolic acidosis that accumulates between sessions — an acidosis driving protein catabolism and cardiovascular mortality. Baihe Medical supplies dry bicarbonate cartridges preferred in Africa for longer shelf life, lower shipping weight and no refrigeration requirement.

Why Dialysis.
12-week buffer stock in East Africa
In-country buffer stock at Nairobi and Mombasa warehouses protects programmes from import delays — no session suspensions from consumable stock-outs.
KDIGO high-flux standard of care
High-flux polysulfone dialysers meeting AAMI/ANSI 11:2014 and EU MDR — the same membrane standard as European and North American dialysis programmes.
Complete circuit compatibility
Dialyser, bloodlines, fistula needles and concentrates from one integrated Baihe Medical range — designed and tested for mutual compatibility and Fresenius/Nipro machine interface.
Paediatric circuit available
Paediatric bloodlines and 17G fistula needles included — supporting units treating children and patients with small-calibre vascular access.
